Thursday 24 Nov. 2016 PAINTING 5.30 pm – free admission

Landscapes from the industrial and urban to the natural and human: the weightless dynamism of painting is used to explore physical locations, be they cities, people or trees that become spaces of the mind, of vision and meditation. The silence of buildings and woods, the mobile “geography” of a face, the soft coming together of colour, of light and shadow to communicate sensations of emptiness and solitude. Stefano Martignago was born in Switzerland. Having specialised in artistic disciplines at upper-secondary school in Treviso, he returned to the nation of his birth to study at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich. In 1968, he moved once more to Italy and became a visual designer. He took up painting seriously again in 2013, the year in which he earned a special mention in the Celeste international art prize. In 2014, he held his first solo exhibition, “Urban Lanscapes” at the Art Port Cultural Centre of Palazzolo sullo Stella, near Udine. He lives and works in Quinto di Treviso.

Exhibition curated by Emanuele Horodniceanu.

On display until 3 December.
